Community centre in Stockton receives boost from social landlord. 1st February 2013 in News By Graeme Hetherington
A COMMUNITY club for youths and adults with learning difficulties has received a financial boost thanks to a £1,500 donation.
The Ragworth Neighbourhood Centre received the funding from the social landlord Tristar’s Stockton North Reaching Out Area Panel (ROAP).
Stockton Borough Council staff at the centre were approached by Debbie Robertson, Tristar Patch Manager, to see how young people could benefit from funding.
The children attending the Stockton-based youth club got together and created their own wish list which included much needed additional televisions, consoles, games and equipment.
Craig Farnaby, the centre manager, said: “We are extremely grateful to Tristar’s Stockton North ROAP for their continued support and valued contribution, it has brought a lot of smiles to many faces.”
The funding has helped to provide additional entertainment that children and other users of the centre can access on a daily basis.
Janet Richardson, ROAP representative, said: “Ragworth Neighbourhood Centre is very important to our community. Through the ROAP’s funding, Tristar Homes has given us the opportunity to provide much needed equipment for the young people who use the centre and youth club.”
