The first Festival of Thrift may be over but we’re already looking forward to the next one! Our Facebook and Twitter feeds are alive with positive glowing comments about the festival and just how fab it was. And, while we’re a modest bunch, we have to agree!
Just seeing the thousands of smiling faces and hearing the wonderful feedback has made all the hard-work worthwhile. We’ve been on the telly and splashed across the media – shining a positive spotlight on Lingfield Point, Darlington and the North East.
Of course, none of it would have been possible, if people hadn’t turned out – in considerable force – to see what the world’s first Festival of Thrift was all about. In fact we estimate 27,000 paid us a visit over the weekend taking part in the workshops, listening to the talks, enjoying the entertainment, doing a bit of thrifty shopping and enjoying our fantastic food.
So a big thank you to every single person who took part, sponsored or supported us and came along.
We’ll be uploading photos of the weekend here and on Lingfield Point’s Facebook page and Flickr accounts – take a look and upload your own to share.
Why not sign up to our mailing list to help us evaluate this year’s event, you’ll also be among the first to hear about plans for 2014.
*And don’t forget that Lingfield Point as well as being the home of the Festival of Thrift is also where scores of successful businesses feel at home. Pop into canteen for a cuppa to get a flavour of life at Lingfield during the working week?

Whats it all about
The first national Festival of Thrift is a FREE fun celebration of everyday living with upcycling, recycling and finding the sassiness in sustainable living!
The Festival of Thrift brings together the magic in upcycling and renewing vintage items, foraging trips with family and friends, how to keep chickens and bees, along with energy reducing initiatives and general style-tastic thriftiness. Our full programme of events will be revealed in the coming weeks – but there’s already plenty to get you started! Don’t forget to sign-up for more information and follow us on Twitter @ThriftFest and add us on Facebook |
