Cleveland Police warned the public to stay away from the area including Incidents on Teesside, who claims he was assaulted by the police at the scene of the incident.
One eye witness reported that the male in his Incidents On Teesside Jumper was hindering the police on the ground, close to the police cordon.
The wanted male on the roof then began posting updates to Facebook once they had the Incidents on Teesside audience behind them.
Incidents on Teesside who claim to be the ‘first on scene’ passing them self off as an emergency service glorified the incident bringing more and more people on to the streets.
Soon after the wanted male started posting to Facebook from on top of the roof to his 90,000 strong online audience in between hurling roof tiles at the Police.
Cleveland Police were forced to release an immediate statement requesting people not to spectate.
“Police are currently on Trent Street in Norton dealing with an incident whereby a male who they wish to speak with in connection with an assault is on the roof of a property and refusing to come down.
“There are reports that bricks have been thrown from the roof onto the ground below. Police dogs, ARVs and the police helicopter are on scene and cordons are in place to ensure the public remain at a safe distance. Officers are currently speaking with the male.
“At around 7:50pm this evening, police were called to reports of a man with minor head injuries at an address on Somerset Road. Officers on the ground have arrested a teenage boy in connection with the assault and are in police custody.
“Police are committed to ensuring the safety of the public and bringing the incident to a safe conclusion.
“Members of the public are being asked not to go to the area as a spectator as it causes traffic disruptions.”
This is not the first time Incidents On Teesside have escalated an incident following the death of Georgina Anderson the owner of the page set up a protest at a Stockton school resulting in a number or public order arrests.
Within the same week they faked a bomb incident and days later when on to fake a stabbing at Middlesbrough College.
Only this week Incidents On Teesside had their mobile application removed from the app store and google play after committing copyright infringement.
What seemed to start out as a good concept for Teesside has within two years become something that most emergency service workers hate following a number of incidents whereby they have cycled to the scene of a fatal crash and began uploading photos before family members have been informed.
The page is now becoming increasingly out of control the bigger it’s audience grows.
